Zoe Finkelstein

Zoe Finkelstein

Hi There!

My name is Zoe and I am a word nerd extraordinaire, finder of little-known songs and an unrepentant sushi connoisseur. Many people describe words as tools that are used to craft and shape a message. But words are the message. I see words as ingredients, each with their own flavour and aftertaste. When used wisely words can become greater than the sum of their parts. Words can be sweet prompts or acrimonious consequences. In an ideal world, I want to become a copywriter who brings an element of truth and relatability to her works.

However, at the ripe age of six, the myriads of writers and personalities behind advertisements never occurred to me as a route I would one day follow. I merely wanted to write, and write I did. From fanciful allegories, experimental poetry and articles, I flexed my writer’s muscles and trained them in a number of media and styles.

My passion to pursue a career in advertising sprung from my love of playing authorial dress-up. Although, I enjoy writing under my own name, I find writing on behalf of a brand particularly liberating. Like dressing up for Halloween on a yearly basis, I love how copywriting allows me to don different styles and lengths of a brand’s sartorial identity, allowing me to step into new shoes and a new mindset whenever I put pen to paper, or rather cursor to document.

I like coffee, conversion and internships with equal enthusiasm, so feel free to get in touch

Writing Snippets

Take a left on joker’s street and head towards melancholy grove, and you’ll find yourself at the abyss. Despite convention the abyss is not an endless pit, a deprivation of light and colour. But rather it’s a convalescence of colour and a light, a mass of so much possibility that you can’t help but turn away. Such brilliance can be more blinding than blackness. For you see, they say that evil is dark, the shadows that linger and wreak doubt upon shining dreams and ambition. But in reality evil is bright, why else would others turn away from it, and greet darkness with open eyes?
