The following was created for D&AD 2017
Client: Nationwide
Brief:
The New Open Banking Initiative in the UK known as PSD2 means that ALL banks in the UK will release their data, so that third-party developers can innovate using banking APIs.
Banks collect data on every facet of your fiscal status; from your income, social media handles, to what you buy and where you buy it. And finally, this data can be used to provide more engaging data-driven experiences and services for customers.
The brief was to create a data-driven service for Nationwide to show people the possibilities inherent in open banking with the power of data.
Insight:
The average Briton stays with their bank for 17 years, but given that 1 in 10 people want to change banks, consumers need greater choice than what one bank can offer.
Idea:
Build A Bank, a third-party platform, brings every banking service in Europe into a single, customisable interface.
Build A Bank searches for the best deals for you based on your fiscal data and allows you to build your bank account to suit your finances with a single tap. Anyone can have the optimal bank loan from one bank whilst maintaining the best interest account from another.
Build A Bank uses open banking to unify all banks into your bank.
